Music Business Workshops in Minneapolis!
Ellis and her manager Terri Mazurek will be teaching two workshops in November for Springboard For the Arts! Both workshops are in Minneapolis and will be held at Noiseland Industries.
The first one is on November 4th, called "How to Sell Your Music Without Selling Your Soul". This workshop covers many aspects of the independent music business including how to have a career without sacrificing your artistic integrity and values. You'll learn how to find your music mission, set 5-year goals, create a marketing plan, as well as learn how to find more fans through building community.
The second workshop is on Mon, Nov 23rd, called "No Booking Agent Needed". This workshop is all about planning and booking your own tours, with special emphasis on acoustic venues, listening rooms and folk festivals.
If you sign up in advance, you save $5!

Excerpt: "I don’t know why I love to procrastinate, but I do! That’s why deadlines are so helpful for me. Creatively, the “just pick up your guitar every day” idea is really working because it’s becoming a habit. I think this summer has been a particularly productive period for me because I’m making creativity and songwriting space every day. It’s very intentional and I think that’s why it’s working."

Returning from Sisters Folk Festival and the Americana Song Academy
Ellis just finished teaching at the Americana Song Academy (along with her manager Terri Mazurek), followed by three performances at Sisters Folk Festival.
Ellis would like to thank all of the wonderful students who attended the song camp, as well as the kind and supportive folks who came to her performances. She is looking forward to returning to Oregon in October and she hopes to see some of y'all then!
